Development and piloting the FFIT programme across Scotland was funded by the Scottish Government’s Chief Scientist Office (project number CZG/2/504) and the SPL Trust.

The cost of running FFIT programme at each club from 2010 to 2013 was met by the Scottish Government and the Football Pools. This funding covered training club community coaches to deliver FFIT, and the materials, equipment and staff time for each session.

The randomised controlled trial of the FFIT programme was funded by the National Institute of Health Research, through its Public Health Research programme (NIHR PHR, project number 09/3010/06).
